The first time I saw one of Steve Klein guitars I could not believe my eyes, I still feel that way!

Years passed until I had the chance to meet the man behind the guitars, acoustics and basses. My wife and I planned a trip to the Wine Country for basically two reasons, Wine & Guitars (the principle of making both is quite similar). My plan was to meet the guitar maker that I have read in books over the years, bits and pieces here and there. On the day of the ,meeting I had handy a copy of “Art That Sings”by author Paul William Schmidt (on Steve’s life and the art of lutherie) which Steve autographed and it is now a great addition to my archive/library.

That book opened my eyes even more, before that, what I knew was, what I have collected over the years in some paper form, magazines, flyers, ads, books, etc.

After meeting Mr. Klein I realized that he didn’t have a website!!!!

Doing a web search one can find information scattered all over the www, but not in one single place and that’s the purpose of the Klein Community Project.

After visiting Steve Klein for several years now and calling him regularly I told him of the idea and he was very excited about it!!!

I hope to have in the following months a weekly addition of materials here, links to: artists (Concerts –where you can see the Klein instruments live or buying their music), guitar shops that carry Klein Guitars(mostly used), photographers, authors website (where you can by their books), Inspired by (world famous luthiers that are fans of SK), Past crew members (where are they now?) and a long list of cool and interesting things related to Master Luthier, and you may even see what his brewing in his shop in Sonoma, California!!!!

So my intention with this Project is to share what I have collected/gathered so far and I know that someone out there might have what I don’t.

So if you appreciate his guitars as I do help Klein Community, contributing by sending related materials [magazines, articles, photos, posters, newspaper clipping, anything related] or you can send a donation through PayPal to help finance the web designing, hosting, maintenance, etc. Since this Project is Non-Profit and self-financed.

Finally, Klein Community will strive to give credit, where credit is due, by asking permission to use images (photos), articles (text), and also accepting corrections if a mistake is made and suggestions to make this website (resourceful and educational) better and for the enjoyment of everyone on the plane tor beyond.
