1990 MICHAEL HEDGES HARP GUITAR 11-strings

• This design concept was born from a discarded project in which SK was to build New Age acoustic guitarist Michael Hedges a modern version of the Harp Guitars from the 20’s and 30’s (that Hedges had been playing). The Klein Acoustic Harp never evolved past the design stage, however Steve Klein did build an electric version of the harp never before seen, using the body of the “then” new electric guitar.

1993 MKM

• The MKM was the brainchild of Montrose, Klein and Miller, using the K-Bass body as a starting point and Steinberger GS neck the MKM was born, Steve Klein went on creating an array of guitars for Steve Miller.

2003 SPALT/KLEIN DOWNTOWN Original Brazilian Rosewood neck, bridge. Bits and pieces, left-over shell, abalone, mother-of-pearl, among other materials from Steve Klein’s wood bins from the last 30 years were encased in a secret resin technique by Viennese Luthier Michael Spalt.

2009 PROTOTYPE SK SERIES – Henry Kaiser #001. Steve Klein is collaborating with Carl Margolis of Timberdance Guitars to bring out a re-designed version of Klein’s ergonomic guitars, this time around with a headstock.

2010 SK SERIES Consisted of three models, Timberstrat, Swamp Angel and the eKLEctric (and that’s not a typo…).

2016 SMK PROTOTYPE Sporting a new headstock with custom-machined tuners. 6 and 7-strings, Multi-scale or standard fretboard will be available early 2017.
