Drawings of Klein Acoustic Harp designs first appeared in American Lutherie in their Summer issue of 1993. The story goes that Michael Hedges and Steve Klein were collaborating on a contemporary version of Dyer Harp Guitars that Michael had been playing live and in studio. Those designs were dropped in favor of the Electric Harp Guitar that Michael used on tours, on the cover of Guitar Player, and in the Taproot CD.
